This has been diagnosed as being the result of exposure to their inspired quality of perception even while impelled to marvel at their lack of clarity.
Two pathological images—pigeon eggs versus chicken eggs—fight for dominance while ravenous dogs prowl hither and yon to prey upon the hapless helpless.
Any sound or movement in the sky brings defensive body language.
The essence of war precedes itself; at least, in the psychosomatic realm.
I’m going to guess that writing the eggs comments is the simplest way for Orwell to make sure he doesn’t lose the habit of writing in his journal. For a sick man who’s writing a novel, keeping up a diary is probably not that high on his list of priorities.

Why its not showing up is a good question…
Why some folks never get tired of the sound of their own voice is a question that is too deep to go into,but it has to do with insite,self awareness,lonliness,etc etc….
