3.12.39

Frost last night. Today fine, windy, coldish. The common lane waterlogged almost knee-deep in parts. Planted another briar root. Note that on post hammered in on 18.10.39 fungi are growing (the horizontal hard kind that look like ears) about 1” broad, so evidently these things grow fairly rapidly.

7 eggs.

Is this the blackberry stake, or an un-chronicled post of a different sort?

  2. The Ridger says:

Would there BE such an un-chronicled post? Granted, a stake and a post seem different, but it seems that he’s telling us everything he does. If he’s not … what possibilities are opened!

i mean, a month-and-a-half isn’t too short a time. an inch of fungus in 45 days, that’s, um, 1/45th inch per day. was that really so fast?

  5. Steve says:

If a post/stake is un-chronicled, can fungus grow on it?
